We are Jessica, Georgia and Maxine Thompson.
As the last name suggests, we are sisters. Comprising twins and an older sister, we have lived, cooked, eaten, entertained and all the rest under the same roof (same roof, different places) most of our lives.
Food and all its related activities have always been an integral part of our family's daily life. Before one meal is over we are discussing what is for the next. On morning jogs together breakfast dominates conversation. Sundays are often spent thumbing cookbooks, and a 4-hour kitchen session is not unusual.
We attribute this preoccupation (some may say obsession) with all things edible to having the good fortune of parents who let us run wild in the kitchen. Saturdays growing up involved pancakes and Pippie Long-Stocking renditions of spatula-less flipping techniques.
This epicurean pastime has manifested itself in a belief that sharing meals = showing affection. Therein lies the raison d'etre of The Bookery Cook – a catalyst for stimulating affection through food.
