During her studies at QCA Rachael worked with concepts relating to visual narrative, the silhouette image, draw/mark making, family history and the dream state. During this time she began collecting small clusters of older books and magazines – many of which were published 1940s and onwards. As her small collection grew Rachael became more enthralled in the process of cutting and extracting images and text from the pages. Rachael shares the love of food with The Bookery Cook sisters. Drawing parallels with collage, she loves the process of cooking - melding together contrasting flavours, textures, tools and methodologies. In the future, Rachael hopes to perfect Hollandaise sauce, but for now, she's mastered a supple Spanish Mousse.
